CONCORDIA, Kan. – Putting up two goals in the opening 20 minutes of action, the Cloud County Community College women’s soccer team would jump out to a 3-0 lead and defeat Dodge City Community College by a final score of 4-1 at the Cloud County Soccer Field in Concordia, Kansas on Saturday.
Pushing their record to 2-0-0 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, the T-Birds are now 4-2-0 overall while the Conquistadors fall to 1-1-1 and 1-1-0 in the KJCCC.
It would take all of seven minutes for CCCC to score the first goal of the game as Aroa Nieto would provide a pass to Izabella Christina after working herself into open space to beat the keeper in a one-on-one situation to put Cloud County up 1-0. Fast forward to the 18th minute of the game when it would be Christina who would return the favor to Neto with a pass that would lead to a goal from the Madrid, Spain native as the T-Birds would double their lead with just over 26 minutes left in the first half.
With the rest of the first half playing out without any more goals, CCCC would add to their two goal halftime lead in the 50th minute as Neto would record her second assist of the game by finding Franciele Cupertino who would put one in the back of the net to give Cloud County a commanding 3-0 lead. Christina would manage to add one more goal on a put back from a save from the DC3 keeper in the 79th minute after her first shot would be deflected away but put the Dodge City goalie out of position for the second shot. The Conquistadors would manage to score their only goal of the game six minutes later off a corner kick as the ball would be sent in to the head of Bethany Middlemass who would beat the keeper far corner.
Cloud County would outshoot Dodge City 28-3 in the contest while also holding a commanding 9-1 advantage in corner kicks. Cupertino led all players in the contest with 12 shots total with Neto adding six and Gabriela Vargas putting up five.

CCCC returns to action on Wednesday with a road match at Pratt Community College in Pratt, Kan. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. against the Beavers, who are coming off a 2-1 home victory over Garden City on Saturday afternoon.
