Abilene Walk for Hope set for Sept. 19

ABILENE — An event in Abilene next week will put the spotlight on a topic that is tough for people to deal with: suicide.

Abilene Walk for Hope: Suicide Prevention and Awareness is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19. Participants may walk at anytime during that period.

The free community walk is scheduled to start at the Rose Garden in Eisenhower Park and continue along paths around the park. Flags of remembrance will be available to place in the Rose Garden. In the event of inclement weather, the walk will be inside the Abilene Parks & Recreation Center at 1020 NW Eighth Street.

The walk is supported by Memorial Health Systems, Senior Life Solutions, and the Quality of Life Coalition, Inc.

For more information about the walk, contact Jandi Wells at 785-263-6805 or via email at [email protected].
