The National Weather Service says that a prolonged period of heavy rainfall could affect the region next week with flooding and rises on area rivers possible.

Scattered thunderstorms return Monday night and greatly increase the middle of the work-week. Severe thunderstorms with heavy rains are possible for all areas. The additional heavy rainfall would increase the threat for flooding so remain alert.
