Maxine F. Scott, 78, of Salina, KS passed away Tuesday, September 24th, peacefully, at Salina Regional Health Center.

Maxine was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 8, 1940, a daughter of Berneice (Roper) and Edward Kalm.

Maxine attended school in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and graduated from Boise City High School, Boise City, Oklahoma.

She was a member of McPherson Church of Christ McPherson, Kansas.

Maxine Faye Kalm was united in marriage to James Claude “JC” Scott on May 11, 1959 at Guymon, Oklahoma. The young couple established their first home together in Boise City, Oklahoma until 1975 when they moved to McPherson, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, two sons and one daughter.

Through the years Maxine worked at a school in Boise City, Oklahoma as a dietary aide and a hairdresser for a local salon. In McPherson she worked for the Wheat State Hotel as a maid, and CertainTeed Manufacturer as a lathe operator.

Maxine enjoyed Joey and Rory gospel and country music, horses, and her family especially her grandkids. and greatgrandkids.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, “J.C.” Claude Scott, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Keith Scott, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dora Bohrer, of Salina, Kansas, and Calvin Scott and wife Stephaney, of McPherson, Kansas; her brother, Gary Kalm, of Elkart, Kansas; her 4 grandchildren, Amber Barnett and husband Mike, Mellissa Scott and fiance Ryan Schierling and Dusty Scott, Ty Bohrer; her 4 great-grandchildren, Trey Scott, Shyanne Estus, Brayden Estus, and Haley Schierling; her caregiver and extended family, Chris Espana, other relatives and a host of friends.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Berneice Kalm.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden – Ediger Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the McPherson Church of Christ, McPherson, Kansas, with Minister Gary Witcher officiating.

Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, KS.
