Kansas Lottery players win trip to New York City

TOPEKA  –The Kansas Lottery is congratulating two loyalty players who will ring in 2020 in New York City at Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve party and have the chance to win $1 million.

Sandy Poe of Lyons and Martin Werner of Chanute won the Kansas Lottery’s First Powerball Millionaire of the New Year promotion. The First Powerball Millionaire of the Year promotion is taking place in 25 participating states throughout the country with 300 winners overall for the promotion.

Kansas Lottery players entered their winning and non-winning Powerball tickets into PlayOn® from July 1, 2019 until Sept. 30. There were approximately 1,094,284 entries in the Kansas Lottery’s drawing. 

The winners’ prize package includes the following.

  • Chance to win $1 million
  • Round-trip, coach-class airline transportation for two people from major airport nearest winner’s city to NYC (if within 200 miles of NYC, ground transportation to be substituted)
  • Three-nights’ hotel accommodations at a luxury hotel (or such other similar comparable hotel) in NYC
  • Two tickets to a holiday show at Radio City Music Hall on Dec. 30, 2019
  • Two tickets for a holiday dinner cruise on the Hudson River on Dec. 30, 2019
  • Two tickets for an exclusive New Year’s Eve dinner and party (including a view of the ball drop) on Dec. 31, 2019
  • Two gift bags, each with a retail value of at least $100
  • All meals while in NYC included
  • Spending money in the amount of $250
  • Ground transportation to and from airports, hotel, and activities while in NYC
  • $1,000 in cash
  • Mandatory State and Federal taxes paid.
  • The prize is valued at approximately $22,535.21
