Gladys Mae Boyce

GODDARD — Gladys Mae Boyce, 96, formerly of Salina, passed away Oct. 15, 2019. She was born May 3, 1923, on the family farm in Talmo, Kan., to Maurice and Mary (Morgan) Fate.

Gladys graduated from Belleville Kansas High School. She married Calvin Boyce in 1949 and raised three children. She was a homemaker most of her life and worked at Jild’s Bridal Shop and Central Music. She loved big band music while dancing with Calvin and embroidered many quilts as gifts. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light in her eyes and the smile on her face.

She is survived by: her remaining sibling, Bonnie Beardsley; daughters, Pamela Tiemeyer (Alf), Debra Young (John); son, Scott (Julie); seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; two sisters; and two brothers.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with the family receiving 4-5 p.m.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the First United Methodist Church, Salina.

Memorials are suggested the Salina V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, or the Church.
