Letter To The Post: Disrespect

SUBMITTED BY “P”:

While watching the South Middle School singing group perform at the Country Club, I realized how disrespectful people can be.

This group of singers are there to entertain the crowd, gain some experience in performing and show off their wonderful talents. But, the disrespectful parents/members of the high and mighty Country Club, chose to let their spoiled children run, scream, throw things, wrestle and show no attention to the program.

Why would they? The parents were sitting there as if it was their social hour…all they were missing was their booze. The parents talked, laughed, paid no attention to the program at all. They didn’t even have the decency to clap for the singers. I have never seen such disrespect. If they didn’t want to see the program, why did they bother bringing the! ir spoiled little children?

If you wanted your social hour, go to the lobby or do it at your next wine tasting party. What a poor example you set for your children, they will grow up to be just as snooty and disrespectful as you. What a disappointment to the performers. You definitely made them feel as if what they were doing was not as important as your gossiping and gabbing.

I think those of you that were at that performance owe those kids an apology. Maybe you should donate some extra to their activity fund. Set a better example for your own children and maybe they can grow up with morals and respect. Go ahead, give it a shot!
