Traffic stop turns to drug bust when Karma detects illegal drug odor

Chalk another one up to Karma.

A patrol officer stopped a car in the 800 block of North Broadway at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday after he noticed that the car, which he recognized, had an illegal license tag on it, Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said Wednesday.

During the stop, Salina Police K-9 Karma indicated on the vehicle for the odor of illegal drugs and a search located two grams of methamphetamine and multiple methamphetamine smoking devices, he said.

The driver, Anthony Wonder, 31, of Randall, was arrested on suspicion of the following, Hanus said.

  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Tax stamp violation
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Driving while suspended
  • Vehicle license plate violation
Bryan Victory

A passenger in the vehicle, Bryan Victory, 37, of Salina, was arrested on suspicion of the following, Hanus said.

  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
