Wildcat’s Entz named to All-Big 12 Second Team

 

MANHATTAN – Kansas State junior midfielder/forward Brookelynn Entz added to her 2019 trophy case, as she was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in voting by the league’s coaches in an announcement from the league office on Tuesday.

Entz is the second K-State player to earn postseason All-Big 12 honors from the league’s coaches, as Hannah Davis collected Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors in 2017. Earlier this season, Entz was selected to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team.

In her third season with the Wildcats, Entz played in and started 17 matches and tallied a career-high 1,343 minutes of action. She led the team in total points (10), assists (4), total shots (67) and shots on goal (28). She was second on the team in goals scored. Her total shots and shots on goal were new career-highs.

The product of Newton, Kan., ranked sixth in the Big 12 in total shots and fourth in shots per game (3.94). In league matches, Entz ranked ninth for total shots (28) and shots per game (3.11). She also ranked tied for ninth for points (8).

Entz set the school records for goals, assists and total points in a junior season and penalty kicks converted in a season (2). She also collected the school records for goals (3) and total points (8) in Big 12 matches.

Kansas State closed out its fourth season of action with a 3-13-2 overall record and a 1-8-0 Big 12 record. The Wildcats set single season school records for total shots, corner kicks and tied the marks for goals and assists in Big 12 play.
