
ABILENE — The 21st annual Abilene Motorcycle Toy Run is set for Sunday afternoon.
Hosted by the American Legion Riders Chapter 39, the ride is scheduled to depart from the Lumber House True Value parking lot at 2 p.m. Riders will be escorted by the Abilene police and fire departments and led by Santa Claus and a display of American flags.
Immediately following the ride, members of the former Eagles Ladies Auxiliary will host a complimentary chili feed at Sterl Hall in Eisenhower Park. During the chili feed, there will be a raffle for a free mini bike, donated by Ackerman Welding and Junction City Walmart.
Riders are encouraged to bring new toys for distribution to children in need. All toys and cash contributions will be donated to Abilene Toys 4 Tots.
The route for the parade is as follows.
- East on 21st to Brady
- South to Fourth
- West to Buckeye
- North to 14th
- West to Vine
- South to Seventh
- West to Rogers
- South to Third
- East to Cedar
- North to 14th
- West to Vine
- South to Seventh
- West to convene at Sterl Hall
