A Saline County couple returned home Christmas day to find belongings stolen and their home damaged while they were away, volunteering at the Ashby House and attending a family Christmas party.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says that someone allegedly broke into the home in the 7600 block of Remington Rd., sometime between 10AM and 6PM on Christmas Day.

The burglars stole three safes that contained antique coins, two flat screen TV’s,  a digital camera, a mahogany jewelry box with jewelry, toolboxes full of tools, a PS3 game console, games and 30 DVDs.

The burglars also caused damage to the home after they poured brown paint on the furniture floors.
