An Abilene couple was injured in a single vehicle accident along I-70 (.25 mile west of Solomon Rd), around 6:45PM Wednesday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 75-year-old Albertine Rohleder and 82-year-old Valerius J. Rohleder were eastbound on I-70 in the right lane and attempted to move over to the inside lane when the driver noticed another vehicle. The driver then reportedly overcorrected and crossed the center median into westbound lanes of on coming traffic. The vehicle then went over a culvert and went airborne and ended up in the bottom of the creek bed on it’s wheels.

Both Albertine and Valerius Rohleder were transported to Abilene Memorial Hospital with injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
