A 22-year-old Salina man has been charged with falsely reporting a crime.

Charles Reynolds reported to police on December 30th, that he was held up in a city parking lot in the 200 block of S. 5th by a black male with a knife.

A check of surveillance video from near by businesses was able to determine that the crime did not occur.

Reynolds was charged with the misdemeanor on Tuesday.
