Leadership in Kansas House and Senate have received a resolution from the Saline County Republican Central Committee objecting to a proposal in Topeka concerning the redistricting of Kansas House and Senate districts in the state.
Saline County Republican Chairman Clarke Sanders says the Cottonwood Draft which would move one district away Salina should be rejected.
Sanders says Saline County has not only maintained but grown in population, and currently has three districts that are wholly or substantially in Saline County, where proposals would add portions of Saline County into already established districts in surrounding areas.
The resolution recommends that the House Redistricting Committee maintain the present three House Districts in Saline County with substantially the same boundaries and no precinct or township be divided into separate House Districts.
