City of Salina Announces Construction Projects That Begin February 27th

On February 27, 2012, contractors for the City of Salina will begin work on the annual ADA Ramps project. This year’s project will focus on installing ADA compliant ramps along Foxboro Drive and various
streets within the Hollybrooke Addition, located northwest of the
intersection of Virginia Drive and Schilling Road.

The ADA Ramps project occurs yearly as part of an ongoing effort to
provide access compliant with the American with Disabilities Act onto
existing sidewalks. Temporary traffic control will be located at the site of construction, but traffic will generally be maintained in both directions.

The City of Salina Department of Public Works will be replacing the manhole at the intersection of South Ohio Street and East Republic Avenue, in the northbound inside lane, starting Monday, February 27, 2012.

Northbound traffic on Ohio Street will be merged into the outside lane and southbound traffic on Ohio Street will not be allowed to turn east onto Republic Avenue.

Republic Avenue traffic will only be allowed to make right turns. Thru traffic and left turns will not be allowed. The work will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Weather permitting, repairs are expected to take 3 days.
