Saline County GOP Host Presidential Caucus Saturday

When it comes to primaries and caucuses, Kansas isn’t normally a place that presidential candidates make time for in their schedule.

But this year with the nomination of the GOP candidate still in doubt, there is still plenty of interest in what voters in Kansas think. Several locations across Kansas will host a caucus Saturday March 10th, including the auditorium at Salina Central High School 650 E. Crawford, put on by the Saline County Republican Party.

County GOP chair Clarke Sanders says the doors will open up at 8:30 am for check in and the program will begin at 10am. 1st District Congressman Tim Huelskamp will be the keynote speaker, and then representatives for each candidate will have up to 10 minutes to speak before voting begins. Voting will remain open until 1pm.

In order to participate in the caucus, participants must have been registered as Republican as of February 17th.
Also those participating must provide a photo ID at the caucus location.

This year any candidate that gets at least 20 percent of the statewide vote will receive some delegates.

In 2008 former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee won the Kansas Caucuses.
