WICHITA – Just after 5 p-m, Wednesday, Sedgwick County detention staff found an inmate hanging in a dormitory housing unit.

They administered aid until medical staff arrived, then eventually Sedgwick County EMS arrived and the inmate was taken to a Wichita hospital where he remains.

Immediate family are being allowed visitation because the severity of the injuries to the inmate.

The unidentified inmate has been booked into the detention facility earlier in the day on multiple felony warrants from through Sedgwick County District Court.
