Sherril Van McConkey

Sherril Van McConkey, 86, of Salina, passed away Saturday, March 31st.

Sherril was born in Solomon, Kansas on July 10, 1925, a son of the late Rachel (Mahar) and Benjamin  McConkey.

He was the husband of Dorothy Lee (Wilson) McConkey and she survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Lana Falk, of Salina, Susan Neicker, of Salina, Patricia McConkey, of Salina, Jane Lerret, of Florida; four sons, Robert Schuster, of Salina, Mark McConkey, of Abilene, Philip McConkey, of Salina,  Paul McConkey, of Salina; brother, Howard McConkey of Abilene, two sisters, Carol Redger of Abilene, Phyllis Gish of California, 19 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon and Lloyd; sister, Loraine.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

At the family’s request there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
