TOP OF THE CHARTS: Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts’ Changed is the nation’s number-one country album after selling 130,000 copies in its first week, according to the latest SoundScan figures.

That bumps last week’s number one, Lionel Richie’s Tuskegee, to number two and Luke Bryan’s Tailgates and Tanlines to number three. Lady Antebellum’s Own the Night climbs two spots to number four, and Eric Church’s Chief holds steady at number five.

KEITH URBAN: New Opry Member

Keith Urban was overcome with emotion at Tuesday night’s All for the Hall benefit in Nashville when he got a surprise invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Since Rascal Flatts, co-host Vince Gill, Diamond Rio and The Oak Ridge Boys are already members, they all joined him on stage for the special moment.

This year’s All for the Hall theme was bands and duos, so Pistol Annies,Alabama, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Thompson Square and The Band Perry were also part of the show, but an exception was made to include country legends Don Williams and Merle Haggard.

KENNY CHESNEY: Richie Was Right

Kenny Chesney has confirmed that he did, in fact, drunk dial Lionel Richie and sang “My Love” on his voice-mail when he decided to take part in the Tuskegee project. When he learned that Lionel saved the voice-mail for possible further incrimination, he quickly told us, “I’m giving a disclaimer right now. It sucks. But it had a lot of heart and passion in it.”

LADY ANTEBELLUM: Halfway Around The World Tour

Lady Antebellum’s Own the Night World Tour is already boasting ticket sales of over 750,000, and they’re only halfway through. The band’s Dave Haywood says, “This tour has exceeded our expectations in every way … I really don’t ever think the feeling of being a headliner will get old.”
