Police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East 6th in Hutchinson to a report of a possible abduction, at approximately 8:42 AM Friday.

The initial investigation revealed that 27-year-old Craig Gooch had kidnapped an adult female, then sexually assaulted her. He then left on foot, but less then an hour later he was located at a residence in the 700 block of East 3rd.

Gooch was taken into custody and transported to the Law Enforcement Center where he’s been charged with aggravated kidnapping, rape, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated. burglary and interference of a law enforcement officer.

He’s being held in the Reno County Jail on a $161,500 bond.

Police say the investigation is still underway.
