Salina police are calling an early-morning vehicle fire an arson.

Firefighters were called around 6 a.m. today to 819 E. Claflin for a vehicle burning in front of the residence of 52-year-old Denise Moore. Salina Police Department Lt. Scott Siemsen said the fire started in the back seat of a red and white 1984 Ford Bronco. He added that it didn’t appear any sort of mechanical issue started the fire and that no accelerant was found. Damage is listed at $800.

Siemsen also said a small amount of cash was taken from Moore’s 2003 Chrysler Town and Country minivan.
