Renee Hedrick, 56, of Salina passed away Wednesday, June 6th, at her residence.
Renee was born in Anderson, Indiana on May 29, 1956, to Gertrude E. (Wiebe) and Paul L. Roten.
She was the wife of Brad D. Hedrick, and worked as a night auditor at Americ-Inn in Salina.
Renee is survived by her husband Brad of the home; daughters, Renee M. (Michael) Morgan, of Wichita, Kansas, Veronica C. Garza, of Salina, and Marina R. Crocker, of Hutchinson, Kansas; son, Daniel P. Cordero, of Salina; brother, Paul (Shari) Roten; as well as 7 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Paul Roten.
Graveside services will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Stuart Charles “Stu” Williams, 54, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, Kansas. He was born on March 4, 1958 in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Alvin Wayne “Deak” and Edna Lorrin Hoft Williams.
Stuart’s great-grandfather was one of a group of early settlers who came in 1855 and settled Ashland Bottoms and Ashland Town. Stuart was honored to be a contributor to the family and their accomplishments.
Stuart graduated from Manhattan High School in 1976. He completed his vocational technical training in 1977 in Building Trades at the Manhattan Vocational Technical College in Manhattan, Kansas. He was a Master Craftsman and enjoyed restoring many historic homes, including the current stone residence of his parents. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 278 and earned his Eagle Scout Badge in 1975. He also earned his “God & Country” Badge. In 1986, he acquired Williams Appliance and Service Center on Poyntz Avenue in Manhattan, Kansas, which was started in 1951 by his father and uncle, Phillip M. Williams. After 54 years, the family business was sold in 2005.
He was a member of the Riley County Historical Society, Friends of the Wolf House and an active member of the Kaw Valley Rodeo Association. Stuart was a member of and christened on May 25, 1958 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Manhattan, Kansas.
Stuart and his first wife, Jane Del Baugh Williams, were united in marriage on April 18, 1982. They later divorced. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Daniel Xavier Williams and Katelyn Elizabeth North. On March 20, 1997, Stuart was united in marriage to Nancy Buckingham in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives of the home.
He is survived by his father and mother, Alvin and Edna Williams of Manhattan, Kansas; one sister, Kay Elizabeth Williams, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one brother, Vincent Richard Williams and his wife Linda of Orange County, California; one niece, Emily Louise and one nephew, Ian Marshall, one son, Daniel Xavier Williams and his wife Mindy of Manhattan, Kansas; one daughter, Katelyn Elizabeth North and her husband, Michael Scott of Anchorage, Alaska and one granddaughter, Alice Ender North; one step-son, Herbert Michael Shanks, Jr., Manhattan; and numerous cousins.
Family will received friends during a visitation from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 330 Sunset Avenue, Manhattan, with Rev. Michael T. Schmidt officiating. Internment will follow at the Ashland Cemetery.

Jennie Pearson, 85, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, June 5th, at her home.
Jennie was born in Pottstown, PA on September 1, 1926, to Lena (Princenthal) and Abraham Printz.
Jennie is survived by three daughters, Jean Carol Ford, Joan Charlotte Gormley, and Brenda Ann Robins; sisters, Ruth Benson, Josephine Keifrider, and Pearl Neumann; as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her, husband Frank Pearson, parents, son, Robert Michaels; brothers Ernest, Marcus and Hillary Printz; and sister, Frances Carter.
Cremation has been selected and there will not be any services.

Phillip Wayne Miller, 65, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, June 5th, 2012.
Phillip was born in El Dorado, Kansas on June 8, 1946, a son of the late Phyllis (Pennington) and George Miller.
He owned B & E Pest Control and worked for Central Music for many years.
Phillip was an avid pool player and a member of the Salina Pool League. He loved his family and enjoyed camping and fishing.
On September 28, 1974, Phillip married Debbie (Buckles) Miller in Delphos, Kansas
Survivors include daughter, Michelle Miller, of Salina, Kansas; son, Jeff Miller and wife Tammy, of Marquette, Kansas; brothers, Michael Miller and wife Regina of Salina, Elmer Miller and wife Linda of Stockton, Missouri, Daniel Miller of Salina, Kansas; sisters, Shirley Jensen and husband John of Salina, Kansas, Jayne Jaimes and husband Mark of Overland Park, Kansas, Pamela Williams of Atchison, Kansas, Dorotha Trouslot of Newton, Kansas; three grandchildren, Shelby Miller, Ashira Miller, Lindsey Miller.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, Donald Miller, Jerry Miller, James Miller, Patrick Miller and sister, Lana Weberg.

Ardis Fortin, 91, of Salina, died of cancer May 30, 2012, at Windsor Estates Nursing Home. She was born July 31, 1920, in Sylvan Grove to Alwin and Meta (Stroemer) Oswald.
Her first job was in her father’s paint and wallpaper store. She later worked as a cook, waitress, caregiver and nursing home laundry worker. Ardis was completely deaf for the last 20 years of her life, and in recent years, macular degeneration left her almost blind.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed Peavey in 1966, and Robert Fortin in 1983; and a special friend, Sal Vallejo, in 1993.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynda (Tom) Ryan, of Salina; a sister, Florene Ringler, of Emporia; three grandchildren, David (Michelle) Ryan, of Wichita, Shannon Ryan, of Lawrence, and Nathan Ryan, of Salina; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey (Kellen) Vaughn, and Christian; and two stepgrandchildren, Jordan and Taylor.

Ron A. Bearnes, 60, of Culver passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012. He was born February 13, 1952 in Salina, the son of George Arthur and Lois Rosemary (Brenner) Bearnes. Ron married Carol Gruber May 25, 1997 at the Culver Methodist Church.
He was a lifetime farmer and stockman and worked at Farmers and Ranchers Commission for 38 years. Ron was affiliated with the Ottawa County 4-H and Fairboard for 50 years. He was a member of the Culver United Methodist Church, and Kansas Livestock Association. Ron served as president of the Crown Point cemetery board in Culver.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lois Bearnes; and one brother, Steve Bearnes.
Ron is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; two daughters, Jill and Linda Mick, both of Salina; four sisters, Connie Bearnes, of Jefferson City, MO, Kay Heilman and husband Jeff, of Valley Center, Kathy Anderson and husband Dean, of Jamestown, Stephanie Bailey and husband Rick, of Fort Wayne, IN; two brothers, Kent Bearnes and wife Kim, and Tim Bearnes and wife Deb, all of Laurel, NE; two grandchildren, Andrea and Connor Mick; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm, and the family will be receiving friends from 6-8 pm Friday, June 8, 2012 at Ryan Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2012 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salina. Burial to follow in the Crown Point Cemetery, Culver, KS. Mary Lou Covert, 77, of Salina, died June 4, 2012. She was born Dec. 20, 1934, in Council Grove, the daughter of Rose and Claude Wadke.
She was a produce manager and worker for Sunset Dillons for 31 years. She loved NASCAR and all auto racing.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Marie, Frances, Janet, Peggy and Sally; a brother, Bud; and a stepson, Jerry Petty.
She is survived by her companion of 34 years, Jack Petty, of the home; her two sons, Doug (Kelly) Covert, of Salina, and Dean (Gail) Covert, of rural Abilene; stepsons, Jim (Vickie) Petty, of Wichita, Joe (Marilyn) Petty, of Smolan, Jeffery (Denise) Petty, of Wichita, and Jay Petty, of Florida; stepdaughters, Julie (Jeff) Arnold, of South Hutchinson, and Vera Jane (Vinnie) Argiro, of Normalville, Pa.; sisters, Elsie, of Strong City, and Jackie, of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren. She has loving friends to remember her, Darla and Steve Denning, Jo Taddiken and her loyal pet, Missy.

Herbert P. “J.R.” McMillan Jr., 61, of Salina, died June 2, 2012, at Kaye Pogue Hospice of Salina. “J.R.” was born Dec. 4, 1950, in Kingfisher, Okla., to Herbert P. and Marie E. (Buettner) McMillan Sr.
He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University, a Rotary member and supporter of FFA. He was the owner of J-K Crop Insurance Agency for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vicki M. Little.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine L. “Kay” McMillan, of the home; one daughter, Jacqueline Calp, of Salina; two brothers, Terry McMillan, of Oklahoma City, and Jim and wife Marilyn McMillan, of DeSoto; one sister-in-law, Julie McKenna and husband Steve Blackwell, of Salina; grandchildren, Tyler and Heather Wachs and Austin and Kaelyn Calp; great-grandchildren, Kaidan Wachs, Tegan Sauer and Anna Wachs; and many favorite nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 7, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, where the family will receive friends from 5-7 that evening.

BAVARIA — Lana Georgene Weberg, 67, of rural Bavaria, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at Kay Pogue Hospice Center, Salina. She was born Jan. 30, 1945, in Guymon, Okla., to George M. and Phyliss (Pennington) Miller and lived there six months until the family moved to El Dorado. She had 12 siblings (eight brothers, four sisters and one half sister).
Lana was baptized as a child at the Baptist church in El Dorado. The family lived in El Dorado until Lana was 12 years old, then moved to Bennington, where Lana completed her high school education and graduated after her junior year. In Bennington, she taught Sunday school at the Methodist church.
After high school, Lana went to Salina Cosmetology School and became a beautician. She was to complete 17 years in this career. She developed a painting business with employees who painted both interiors and exteriors of homes. This work continued for several years.
Lana was a volunteer employed with the Salina Arts Center as a security and floor assistant. She helped with teaching and art shows, and Lana herself was an artist. Her work experience included managing employees for various car rentals at the Salina Airport for five years. She retired after her second heart attack.
Lana enjoyed the serenity of the farm with the planting of flowers. Some of the plants reminded her and her husband, Phill, of their many trips together camping in Colorado. Approximately 25 trips to the Buena Vista, Colo., area were taken during their 30 years of marriage. She also enjoyed the farm animals, cats and dog. She enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, ping-pong, dominoes, Scrabble, Bingo, Monopoly, card games and dancing. Her artistic talents were evident in the way she enjoyed decorating the family home with colors and textures.
Lana was united in marriage in 1963 to Charl Reinbold at First United Methodist Church, in Salina. To this union three children were born, Charl, Marc and Stephanie.
Lana was united in marriage to Phillip Stephen Weberg on July 25, 1981, and together they made their home on the Weberg family farm northwest of Bavaria. Lana enjoyed raising her children and spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lana was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Donald Lee Miller, Jerry Dean Miller, James Raymond Miller and Patrick Allen Miller.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip S. Weberg, of the rural Bavaria home; two sons, Charl Jay Reinbold Jr. and wife Kim, of Merritt Island, Fla., and Marc Alan Reinbold, of rural Salina; daughter, Stephanie Kae Boyce and husband David, of Carlton; six grandchildren, Nicole Renee Lehman, Chaz Alan Reinbold, Devin Michael Reinblold and wife Kelsi, Marrissa Ann Reinbold and husband Bobby Slocum, Heather Ann Boyce, and David William Boyce, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Jorden Lehman and Jaiden Lehman and Easton Miles Slocum; four brothers, Philip Miller and wife Debbie, Michael Miller and wife Regina, Elmer Miller and wife Linda, and Daniel Miller; four sisters, Shirley Jensen (John), Jayne Jaimes (Mark) and Pamela Williams and Dorotha Mae Trouslot; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Louise Haggar (Michael), Evelyn Margaret Phillips (Elwin Carl Bergstraesser) and Joann Miller; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Frances L. Carpenter, 84, of Salina, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012. She was born July 30, 1927, near Emporia to Edgar and Grace (Morse) Christlieb.
She retired after working for more than 20 years for Westinghouse Philips. Frances loved spending time with family and working in her garden.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard W. Carpenter, of the home; two sons, Alan (Katrinka) Carpenter and Curtis (Carrie) Carpenter, all of Salina; two daughters, Joy F. Amon, of Lawrence, and Gay Amon (Max), of Kansas City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several stepgrandchildren and greatgrandchildren; one brother, Glen Christlieb, of Herington; one sister, Maxine Potter (Lee), of Harveyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no memorial services. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling the cremation.
