The advisory for toxic blue green algae at Milford Lake has been lifted as a result of the test samples collected this past Monday.
That information is being provided by the Operations Project Manager for the Corps of Engineers at Milford Lake R. J. Harms. He said no additional testing is scheduled or will occur until conditions change or reports of new algae are provided to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Harms did note press releases will report the advisory has been lifted but users should be aware of possible concentrations of the algae which have been seen in and around the city of Milford and School Creek areas.
No water restrictions are in effect at Milford Lake. The algae advisory was also lifted at Marion Reservoir and Winfield City Lake.
