Officer Breanna D. Buechman  was injured after she attempted to stop a car at 2:16 a.m. in the 100 block of South Eighth Street in connection with an ongoing investigation. The driver reportedly took off at a high rate of speed, then the driver made a U-turn and rammed the police car on the driver’s side.

The driver, whose identity has yet to be released, was apprehended by several other officers. Expected charges of possession of illegal drugs/paraphernalia, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer, and driving under the influence, are pending.
