I awoke to the playing of the National Anthem on my clock radio. I have it rigged to do so. It reminds me of my days as a recruit. Two hours later the music died.
Two hours and everything I and thousands of men and women fought for these past 236 years is close to becoming irrelevant. The Constitution, the law of the land, has been spat on by this administration time and time again…illegal appointments…granting amnesty to illegals….. It has been characterized as “being in the way of progress”, and “outdated” and Thursday it was trampled on by those who are supposed to uphold it, when they declared the Affordable Health Care Act to be constitutional.
It appears the Court shares the philosophy of the administration and the elitist of the country: the document is outdated and limits the power of the government. Hello, that was its design and intention.
The dissenting opinion(4 justices) stated the entire act was unconstitutional. That says a lot. What the President stated was not a tax, became one to five justices and therefore, as a tax, it made the requirement to have health care insurance constitutional. Which now raises the question, If this is so, then the government can pass a law that mandates you buy Chevy Volts, and if you do not, you will have to pay a tax, meaning everyone must buy a Chevy Volt. What next?
The fix is to purge those in Congress and the White House come November. That of course will not happen. There are too many who believe the government should provide for them from cradle to grave, including those in congress. This president has lied, cheated, and circumvented the law of the land, and no one has called him on it. That attitude will get him a second term. The thing to worry about is, his and the democrats plan to amend the constitution to allow for more than two terms for the president. As of today, nothing is sacred, most of all the Constitution.
