A Salina man who was taken to the Salina Regional Medical Center late Saturday night has been cited for violation of Animal Care Requirements.

Donald Reeves was loading several things into his car late Saturday night at his home in the 2100-block of Tulane, when he became ill and was taken to the hospital.

Among the things placed in the car before the medical issue was a cat in a carrier. The cat was found dead in the car Sunday night.

Reeves was cited at the hospital.
