Salina Man Injured, Ellsworth Man Jailed On Aggravated Battery Charge

An altercation Tuesday afternoon at a storage unit where a car was being worked on, sends a Salina man to the hospital and a Ellsworth man to jail on charges of aggravated battery.

Just after 4:00pm, 31-year-old Shane Tupa of Salina got into an altercation with 39-year-old Leonard Legette of Ellsworth, at a storage unit at 2820 Foxboro where a group of people were working on a car.

Witnesses say that Legette slapped Tupa, then picked him up and threw him to the ground.

Tupa suffered a fractured skull, and a cut to the forehead and above the right eye. He was admitted to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of injuries.

Legette who left the scene, turned himself in later at the Salina Police Department and was booked into jail.
