Warner Bros. is reportedly in talks with director Robert Zemekis to create a live-action remake of The Wizard of Oz. In a move likely to be seen as controversial, they are reportedly planning to use the original script from the 1939 classic.
Warner Bros is the current owner of the screenplay after buying Ted Turner’s empire. Turner purchased the screenplay from MGM.
Disney is also working with director Sam Raimi (and potentially Robert Downey Jr.) to produce The Great And Powerful Oz.
