A Salina man was arrested Wednesday evening on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute, no tax stamp, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office was called to UPS at 1502 W. North Wednesday afternoon after an employee found a package that was to be shipped out, that was not taped shut, and appeared to have a green leafy substance inside that looked like synthetic marijuana or also known as ‘potpourri’.
The Sheriff’s Office turned the investigation over to the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force, and after getting a search warrant, they found 100 small baggies filled with what could be the substance UR 144 (or ‘potpourri’), 100 empty small baggies, and digital scales.
Arrested was a Salina man, Somchai Ditsunon.
Drug Task Force Commander Lt. Jim Norton says Ditsunon was shipping the package to Florida.
This is Ditsunon’s third arrest in the last year on drug charges related to ‘potpourri’.
He was convicted for a case in March of 2012, and was on probation for the case. He was also arrested in September of last year.
