A 32-year-old McPherson man found guilty in Reno County of six counts of aggravated indecent liberties and sentenced to serve 51-years in prison had his appeal in the case heard before the Kansas Supreme Court Wednesday.
Edward Spears III, is seeking relief from the conviction and sentence of life on all six counts he was convicted of.
Spears was found guilty of lewd fondling or touching of the then 8-year-old girl with the crimes occurring sometime during August or September of 2007.
District Attorney Keith Schroeder argued the states side of the case on Wednesday.
