A Salina woman reports that someone entered her home and stole a purse that was sitting next to the couch she was sleeping on.

According to police, 66-year-old Helen Gench reportedly fell asleep on a couch at her home in the 100 block of S. 11th around 1:15 am and when she awoke around 3:30 am, the purse which was setting next to her was gone.

The purse contained $500 cash and prescription hydrocodone tablets.

There were no signs of forced entry.
