AT 1212 PM CDT… NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS WERE TRACKING STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM BROOKVILLE TO MARQUETTE TO 6 MILES SOUTH OF WINDOM… AND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 50 MPH.
WINDS TO 50 MPH ARE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS.
BE PREPARED TO TAKE SHELTER IN THE EVENT THE STORMS INTENSIFY AND BECOME SEVERE, OR A WARNING IS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
COLD FRONT MOVES IN: A strong cold front will arrive across the area today bringing welcomed relief from the heat.
High temperatures today are expected to remain in the 70s and 80s.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms may accompany the front with gusty northerly winds of 25-35 mph expected. A few strong storms with winds to 50 mph and small hail will also be possible…especially across southeast Kansas this afternoon.
