Catherine Farr, 67, Salina, died Friday, September 7, 2012.

She was born, Catherine Jane Bell on June 17, 1945 in Salina to Ralph C. and Mary W. Bell. Cathy was a graduateof Salina High School and Marymount College. She was registered nurse at Asbury Hospital and a lifelongmember of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sister, Judith (Foster) Paulette of Kansas City, MO; three daughters; Alisa (Marshall)
Greene of Abilene, Liana (Nathan) Dickey of Topeka, Kerry (Douglas) Bond of Yukon, OK; son, Kyle
(Kori) Farr of Manhattan, KS; and eight grandchildren, Ethan, Olivia, Emmett and Annalee Greene;
Meredith and Makenzie Brockelman ; Alexander Farr; Elizabeth Bond.

Funeral services will be at 10am, Saturday September 15, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church, New Cambria.
Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery, New Cambria.

Lucille Opal Collins, 94, of Salina, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012. She was born April 29, 1918, in Gaylord, the daughter of Julius and Lena (Bechtold) Ifland.

She worked as a schoolteacher in Lucas and Belleville, and in Salina taught life science at Salina Central from 1967 until 1982. She and her husband, “Bob,” were charter members of the Isis Shrine Greeters. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and was a longtime RSVP and SRHC Auxiliary volunteer and a cancer survivor who worked with patient counseling. She was a Sunrise Presbyterian member for more than 50 years and belonged to Mariners Club and many church women’s groups. Lucille loved baking, quilting and gardening. She loved her friends and family and, especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don R. “Bob” Collins.

Lucille is survived by her sons, Bob (Mary) Collins, of Council Grove, and Barry (Linda) Collins, of Salina; and a sister in law, Rita Ifland, of Smith Center. There are five grandchildren, John (Jenny), Jess (Anna), Amy, James (Marie) and Robbie Collins; and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ava, Capri and Marcel Collins.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Salina.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Sunrise Presbyterian Educational Scholarships or Salina Regional Health Center Auxiliary.

Lela Mae Liby, 98, Salina, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012. She was born July 23, 1914 in Lincoln, Kansas to Calvin and Mattie (Knight) Couse. For over thirty years, she worked for Dean and Grace Evans. She was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Jolly Mixers, and delivered Meals on Wheels until the age of 90.  

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Briley and Clarence L. Liby,   three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include a daughter, Tanya Kimzey of Salina; a son, Bob Baird of Wichita; a stepdaughter, Karen Ribordy of Solomon; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Jarboe officiating. Private inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. The family suggests memorials to the Salina Senior Center. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, is in charge of arrangements.
