Should we be concerned that CBS news/slant and our own Government officials are now calling foreign groups “militia”, in total disregard and opposition to their interpretation of the 2nd Amendment use of the term as a “government-sanctioned” military organization?
These are merely two examples of what I see as a rising problem with the left, again, redefining terminology.
Might this be another way of “dumbing down” society into believing “militia” is a bad thin. Much like the corruption of the words “abortion” and “fetus” to cover up the REALITY that the murder of innocent children is taking place in our “modern” civilization?
- Militia: “system of military discipline,” from L. militia “military service, warfare,” from miles “soldier” (see military). Sense of “citizen army” (as distinct from professional soldiers) is first recorded 1696, perhaps from Fr. milice.
- Abortion: from L. abortionem (nom. abortio) “miscarriage, abortion,” from abortus, pp. of aboriri (see abortive). Originally of both deliberate and unintended miscarriages; in 19c. some effort was made to distinguish abortion “expulsion of the fetus between 6 weeks and 6 months”
- Fetus: from L. fetus “the bearing, bringing forth, or hatching of young,” from L. base *fe- “to generate, bear,” also “to suck, suckle” (see fecund). In L., this was sometimes transferred figuratively to the newborn creature itself, or used in a sense of “offspring, brood”
Take a look at how the meaning of these words has been skewed and corrupted. Nothing in “fetus” that refers to a “blob of flesh” and in fact the definition goes against those who claim “life” does not begin until viability.
It’ll make it a lot easier for them to take our guns if everybody’s scared of a “citizen army”.
