MUSIC CITY USA NEWS: Rascal Flatts on Top…

Friday evening in Nashville before a sold-out crowd of over 13,000 in Nashville’s Bridgestone arena, Brian O’Connell, President, Live Nation Country Touring presented a commemorative ticket to the members of Rascal Flatts to celebrate a touring milestone. This streak started in 2004 when the band began headlining their own tours, which culminated in tonight’s milestone achievement. Rascal Flatts ticket sales have reached a new high tallying over 7 million tickets sold! This achievement ranks the band as one of the top selling country music acts during this period.

 

With the help of VIP partner, CID Entertainment, George Strait is running an auction for the majority of shows on The Cowboy Rides Away Tour to benefit The Jenifer Strait Memorial Foundation. The winning bidders will receive a pair of front row seats and Meet & Greet passes to meet the iconic George Strait. All proceeds benefit The Jenifer Strait Foundation.

The Jenifer Strait Memorial foundation was set up to honor the memory of Jenifer Strait, George’s daughter. The fund donates money to various children’s charities in the San Antonio and Houston area including The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio and St. Jude’s

 

Reba McEntire is headed back to the small screen with her new show, “Malibu Country,” but this foray back into acting doesn’t mean the hitmaker is taking a break from music. In fact, she acknowledges how the sitcom’s story line — which focuses on her character, Reba Gallagher, trying to revamp her music career — lends itself to creating new tunes for the show.

“That’s what the fans are really asking for,” Reba tells “Entertainment Tonight.” “They’re really excited about me playing a country singer … I do write a lot of the songs in the show. We’ve already got two songs in the pilot and the first episode, so we’re ready to go with the music.”
