NCAA Preview: Regional Playoffs

The NCAA advanced the maximum number of teams possible from the Bi-District playoffs on Tuesday. With Beloit and Ellsworth playing each other, the league was guaranteed at least one team, but there will be two.

Holcomb (9-1) @ Beloit (10-0)

Beloit continued their domination on the 2012 season on Tuesday with a 66-0 victory over Ellsworth. The Trojans led 58-0 at halftime and set the cruise control in the second half.

Holcomb will be a worthy opponent and for Beloit tonight. The Longhorns were second in the Greater West Activities Conference, which features six teams, four of them are in Class 4A. The only loss for Holcomb came in League play to Scott City, who is currently 10-0, 21-7 in week three.

This game will kick-off at 5:00 pm at BHS.

Scott City (10-0) @ Sacred Heart (9-1)

Speaking of Scott City, the Beavers will travel into Salina to take on Sacred Heart tonight. Scott City, like Holcomb, plays in the Greater West Activities Conference-a conference loaded with 4A schools. Despite that schedule, the Beavers give up only 6.8 points per game and have posted four shut-outs this season. Scott City advanced by defeating Cimarron on Tuesday, 55-6.

Sacred Heart will look to keep their season rolling at home. The Knights advanced by protecting that home field on Tuesday, 21-19 over Norton. Sacred Heart has been a prolific offensive team this year, but it was the Knight defense that held Norton out of the end zone on a two-point conversion attempt to tie the game.

This game will kick-off at 7:00 pm at Salina Stadium
