Robert Warren Lindblom, 94, of Salina, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012. Mr. Lindblom was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Salina, the son of Walter and Mable (Olson) Lindblom.

He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the United States and the Philippine Islands. He retired in 1992 after 46 years with the Kansas Department of Transportation, District Two Personnel and Accounting Section, Salina.

He was a graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University. Robert was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he served at different times as a Sunday school teacher, secretary and superintendent. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 718, American Legion Post No. 62 and American Association of Retired Persons. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Frances Lindblom.

He is survived by cousins, Margaret and husband Gail Morrison, of Salina, Mary Jo Hulse, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Daniel Nyberg, of Wichita, and June Lindblom, of Jensen Beach, Fla.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Chapel, 302 S. Seventh, Salina. Private burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Hospice of Salina.
