Gusty south winds will develop across central and south central Kansas today.

Unseasonably warm temperatures in the low to mid 70s will combine with south winds at 20 to 30 mph and result in very high grassland fire danger during the afternoon hours. A period of extreme fire danger is possible across Barton and Russell counties around mid-afternoon.
