Faye Marie Nelson, 82, of Wichita, passed away Monday, November 26th, at her residence.

Faye was born in Salina, on December 18, 1929, to the late Jessie Mae (Hawkins) McDuffy and Bert  Meckling.

She was the widow of Maurice Alyn Nelson.

Faye is  survived by her daughter; Maureen Woods, of Wichita, Kansas; step-son, Maurice B. Nelson of Fresno, California; grandchildren, Brandi Nelson, Antionne Nelson, Arsenio Nelson, Cameron Nelson, Ashley Mosley, and Ikea Mosley; great grandchildren, Makail Nelson, Dasan Nelson, Alessandra Nelson, Katalaya Boone, Amaree’ Francois, Kai’lee Francois, and Za’kai Mosley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dionne Mosley; son, Phillip Nelson; sisters, Alice Slay, Maxine Lawler, Dolly Woods, Doris House, Sara Jane Wilson, Margaret Dotson, Lillian Meckling, and Doretha Meckling; brothers, Bert Meckling Jr., Harry Meckling, Delmar Meckling, Kenneth Meckling, and Vincent Meckling; as well as her long-time friend, Larry Carroll.

Friends are invited to call on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 8 am -1:30 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 3, 2012 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. Cremation will follow with a private family inurnment.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 321 North 8th Street  Salina, Kansas.
