Mildred B Nunn, 81, of Salina, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 28th, at Salina Presbyterian Manor.

Mildred was born January 12, 1931 in Rural Ottawa County, Kansas to the late George and Laura (Chrisman) Berry.

She was united in marriage to Raymond P. Nunn, Sr.  They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.  Mildred had a deep love of her family.  As a nature lover she enjoyed her flower gardens.  Her love for art transferred into many paintings for family and friends.  Mildred always had a smile on her face for everyone she met. She had taught Sunday school at the Nazarene Church in Minneapolis, Kansas.  Mildred also worked for some time at the Ottawa County Historical Museum.

Mildred is survived by her son, Martin (Susan) Nunn, of Salina; daughter, Bonnie (Mark) Neubrand, of Salina; as well as her grandchildren, Robin (Cy) Wiggans, Miranda (David) Pierce, Jered Nunn, Staci (Jamie) Bowers, and Ashley (Jake) Scoville; and great grandchildren, Seth Schraml, Nathan Wiggans, Addison Pierce, Skylar Pierce, Jacob Scoville, Lauren Scoville, Ben Scoville, Tanner Bowers, Dylan Bowers, Grace Bowers, and Devin Bowers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond P. Nunn, Sr.; son, Raymond P. Nunn, Jr., as well as   her sisters, Gloria and Laura; and brother, George.

Friends are invited to call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home.  Intement will follow at Greenville Cemetery in Niles, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salina Animal Shelter, 329 N. 2nd, Salina, Kansas 67401.

Lila Leslie, 81, of Salina, Kansas passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Hospice of Salina. Leslie was born on June 22, 1931 to the late Ed Luthi and Esther (Allison) Nichols.

She was born at home in Wells, Kansas, growing up and attending school in Chapman. Lila created many childhood memories in the Chapman, Abilene and Junction City area. She also spent a couple years living in Austin, Texas. Growing up she had a passion for planting flowers and loved house plants. During her lifetime she created numerous needle point quilts and several heirloom pieces. She was very talented in sewingmaking  3 of the 4 daughters wedding gowns. She loved to cook and spend time with her dogs.

She worked in heathcare at the Geary Community Hospital as a nurse. She also worked for Dr. Margaret Clark in Lawrence, Dr. Mace and Dr. Wright in Junction City. She also worked as a telephone receptionist at Asbury Hospital which is now Salina Regional Health Center.

She was united in marriage in 1973 to James Leslie in Eudora, Kansas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years James Leslie of Salina, Kansas. She is also survived by 3 daughters Donita Walton and husband Harry of Moore, Oklahoma, Janetta Smith and husband Jerry of Assaria, Kansas, and Maxine Rogers and husband Eddie of Salina, Kansas. She is also survived by two sisters Mary Jane Dauter of Spokane, Washington and Pat Kosanke of Belleview, Washington,  and one brother, Doug Luthi and wife Barb of Tacoma, Washington. Also surviving her is a sister-in-law Jean Moore and husband Dick of Topeka, Kansas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild due in April.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Beverly Logan and one son Fred Oliver and her mother-in-law Dorothy Leslie.

Cremation has been chosen and a private memorial will be held at a later date.

Connie G. Busch, loving mother and grandmother, went to be with our Lord on November 27, 2012.  She was born in War, West Virginia, and was a longtime resident of Salina.

She was preceded in death by her son Danny.

Connie is survived by 5 children; Joe, Lorene, Wally, Wesley, and John; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., at the SalvationArmy Chapel, 1137 N. Santa Fe.  Inurnment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Zeta Schippel Crowther went to heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.

Born Zeta Marie Schippel on March 23, 1929, in Salina, she was the daughter of Leon and Edith (Giersch) Schippel. She was raised in Kansas, where she remained involved in the Schippel family farming operation throughout her life. Zeta graduated from St. Mary’s Academy, Leavenworth, and received a degree in social work from Loretto Heights College in Denver.

She married Salina attorney Joseph B. Crowther in 1952 and utilized her training as a social worker for health departments in Saline and Dickinson Counties. The beauty and climate of Southern California led them to make Newport Beach their home in 1960, where Zeta loved her Lido Isle home.

Zeta was an intelligent businesswoman who used her business success to give generously to many worthwhile organizations. The war years gave her a special love and appreciation for veterans and their related organizations. Zeta was completely dedicated to animals and their welfare. Many stray and abandoned animals found their own heaven when they were lucky enough to be adopted by Zeta.

Zeta was especially proud of her pioneer family heritage as the granddaughter of Gotthart and Clara (Wary) Schippel, who homesteaded in 1856 in what later became Saline County. Zeta retained ownership of part of the original family land throughout her life.

Zeta is the beloved sister of Norma Schippel Aylward, who preceded her in death, and Nora Schippel Johnson, Newport Beach, who survives her. Zeta was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Crowther. She is survived by three nieces, Mary Grace Crosby (Ralph), of McLean, Va., Jeanne Marie Edwards (Kenny), of Salina, and Jayne Anne Aylward (Ralph Ungles), of Tonganoxie, Kan.; and two nephews, David Geoffroy (Jody), of Corona del Mar, Calif., and Michael Aylward (Jill), of Chanute, Kan.; along with a host of great-nieces and -nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Ryan Mortuary. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

Memorial contributions may be made to the KSU Foundation for Zeta Schippel Scholarships for Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, KS 67401.

Teresa Ilene Hart, 71, Delphos, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her home.

Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M., Friday at the Hart Family Farm, 1234 K-41 Highway, Delphos. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 1 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Delphos. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery. A reception will follow at 4:00 P.M. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Minneapolis.
