The Salina Bombers are proud to announce two additions to the 2013 roster.

Pompey Festejo is a native of Benicia, California where he received all-state honors in football and basketball at Benicia High School.

Festejo would attend San Jose State University, after high school, where he was a part of the Spartan football program. Festejo would red-shirt his first season in 2006 and would see significant playing time as a freshman the next season as a linebacker.

As a sophomore in 2008, Festejo would make the transition from safety to linebacker and would earn Special Teams Player of the Year for the Spartans and rank ninth on the team in tackles.

Festejo would continue to flourish at linebacker in 2009, leading the team in tackles and he was also voted the team’s most inspirational player. After an off-season injury kept Festejo out in 2010, he would return to play his sixth season in 2011. Festejo is no stranger to big games, playing against college football powers such as Alabama, USC, Wisconsin and Nebraska while at San Jose State.

Cory Casteel is a native of Abilene, Kansas where he was a two-sport athlete, with honors, in football and wrestling for the Abilene Cowboys.

Casteel was a KSHSAA State Champion as a part of the Cowboy wrestling team in 1997. After high school, he attended Huron University in Huron, South Dakota where he continued to excel in wrestling and football at the next level.

Casteel would earn 2nd Team All-NAIA honors as an offensive lineman in 2000. After earning a teaching degree, Casteel would return to Kansas where he was a football assistant coach and head wrestling coach at Cherryvale High School. Casteel is currently teaching in his hometown of Abilene, and is part of the coaching staff for the Abilene wrestling and football programs. Casteel has played professionally for the Junction City Force football team.
