A Salina boy, under the age of 14, is in the juvenile detention center on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

Friday afternoon about 1:00pm, the boy was with a group of boys at Old Navy in the Central Mall, when the suspect used at pen knife to poke another boy under the age of 14 in the chest.

Salina Police learned of the incident when the victim was receiving treatment at the emergency room of Salina Regional Health Center.

The suspect was taken into custody at his home.
