Screen Shot 2013-02-27 at 10.30.34 AMInterim Director Tina Lewis has accepted the position of Executive Director, offered to her at the Salina Housing Authority’s board meeting on Feb. 26th.

Lewis joined the Salina Housing Authority in 2009 as the Finance and Human Resource Manager and was promoted to Assistant Director in 2012. Lewis’ selection is the result of a search that generated 40 candidates from across the country.

Lewis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Masters of Business Administration from Kansas Wesleyan University. Lewis has resided in Salina since 1998. She also serves on boards for the United Way, Kansas NHRO, Salina Downtown, Inc. Design Review, Salina Landlord Assoc. and is a graduate of Leadership Salina.

Board Chair Kristin Gunn said, “Tina has been acting in the capacity of director since December and is extremely knowledgeable in the operations and responsibilities of the Salina Housing Authority. She has the unique combination of education, business and operations experience, strong knowledge of governmental and regulatory agencies, and community involvement we were looking for. We are confident she can lead and will move the organization forward.”

The search for a new executive director followed former director Larry Pankratz’s announcement of his resignation last November. The Salina Housing Authority currently has 9 employees and serves 494 housing units in Salina.
