Salina Police investigating a case of arson late Tuesday night.

About 11:10pm emergency crews were sent to the 800-block of W. Republic to a report of a vehicle on fire.

When they arrived, they found 32 year old Phillip Stillwagon and a neighbor trying to put out a fire on the exterior of a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer owned by Stillwagon that was parked in an alley.

It appears someone poured a flammable liquid on the vehicle that caused damage to the front end and melted a portion of the rear bumper.

Damage was estimated at $1,500.
