Tornado Causes Damage In Russell County Sunday Evening

A rope tornado dropped down from the sky in northwest Russell County Sunday evening causing damage to a radio tower, tree limbs and an old barn according to information received by the National Weather Service in Wichita.

The tornado reported about 6:38pm about 3 to 4 miles southwest of Paradise. No reports of any injuries.

Reports of golf ball and ping-pong ball size hail in Barton, Rice, and McPherson counties with isolated severe thunderstorms Sunday evening.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman Oklahoma says there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms that could produce large hail, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes in central Kansas Monday afternoon into Tuesday.
