A rural Solomon woman and a Abilene man injured in a crash of a pickup and car east of New Cambria just the noon hour Wednesday.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says 37-year old James Howard of Salina was southbound and stopped at a stop sign on Niles Road at old highway 40. After Howard waited for a semi to pass, he pulled out onto old 40 and did not see a car driven by 18-year old Jerrica Sterrett and the pickup and car collided.

Sterrett and a passenger, 19- year old Ray Dalton of Abilene were taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of injuries.

Sterrett had a broken leg, and Dalton facial cuts. Howard was not injured.
