A 26-year-old Salina woman victim of an internet scam.
Between March 23rd and March 26th, the woman thought she was buying a car from a posting on Craigslist.
The car was in Tucson Arizona and the alleged seller emailed the woman instructions to send $1,980 for the car and $1,500 for shipping to the E-Bay Financing Center.
After not hearing anything back, the woman contacted E-Bay Financing Center and they knew nothing about the transaction.
The woman reported the scam to police on April 12th, is out $3,480. Salina Police Lt. Scott Siemsen says anytime you find a deal that is too good to be true, it probably is.
Siemsen also says if you do purchase anything from individuals on various sites, to do plenty of research before you send any money.
