Gavin Lee Brummett, 7, Salina, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, in the arms of his mother and father. He was born to his parents Rodney and Nichole Brummett, Jr. on January 25, 2006 at Salina Regional Health Center.
Gavin attended Bennington Elementary School, where he was in the first grade. Gavin and his family attends Heartland Worship Center where he was a member of the Royal Rangers Youth Group. He played basketball for the Bennington Bulldogs Rec. Team. He was a seasoned outdoorsman, an expert adventurist and the very center of our hearts.

He is survived by his parents and brothers, Garrett & Gunner Brummett, all of the home. His great grandparents are Lorraine Albers, Salina; Bob Albers, Astor, FL, Pauline Brummett, Salina, and Robert & Vera Neises, Salina. His grandparents are Rod Brummett, Sr., Meriden, Laurie & Jim Debold, Tescott, Perry D. Kenley, Glendale, and Janet Diehl, Brookville, Ks. His aunts and uncles are Perry R. Kenley, U.S.Navy, Jacqueline Pahls, Brookville, Ricky Brummett & family, Wichita, Jason Debold & family, Salina, Lindsey Debold-Brungardt & family, Salina, Levi Debold, Tescott, and Jenny Debold, Tescott.
Visitation will be on Wednesday April 17, 2013 from noon until 8:00 pm at the Ryan Mortuary, Salina, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm that evening. Funeral services will at the 10:00 am Thursday morning April 18th, at the Heartland Worship Center, 118 S. 8th, Salina. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery.

Millie Kency, 87, of Salina, formerly of Bolton, MS, died Monday, April 15, 2013. She was born August 3, 1925 in Bolton, MS, the daughter of McKinley and Estella (Lee) Atkinson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Kency; five sons, Willie, Freddy, Donald, Mark and Jimmy Kency Jr., and one daughter, Salistean Moore.
She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Marie Clincy, Dorothy Sturgis, Birdie Outland (Gene), all of Salina, and Tressy Diane Kency (Robert), of Bolton, MS; two sons, Percy (Pam) Kency and John (Sophia) Kency, both of Salina; a sister, Margaret, of Bolton, MS; a brother, Thurman, of Flint, MI; 35 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, 215 S. Chicago, with Pastor Allen D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the church in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina.
