November 18, 2010 – Christmas cookies and Christmas stories go hand in hand during the holiday season, so the library is giving children a chance to decorate cookies while listening to some favorite Christmas stories during special December story times.
Cookies & Stories will be at in the Prescott Room at the Salina Public Library, 301 W. Elm. The times are as follows: Dec. 6 at 4 p.m.; Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m.; Dec. 8 at 4 p.m.; Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m.; Dec. 10 at 10:30 a.m.
Children will decorate cookies, hear stories, sing songs, see a puppet play and more. A special visitor from the north also will stop by after the cookies are decorated, so parents will want to bring along cameras.
Each session has a limited enrollment, and sign-up for all sessions begins November 29. Sign ups for each session are required. Those interested can sign up in Youth Services, call 825-4624, ext. 230 or at the Youth Services desk on the lower level at the library.
Last year, Santa visited with over 250 children – each getting one-on-one attention from the man with the bag.
For more information about these services, please contact Kristi in Youth Services at 825-4624, email khansen@salpublib.org or visit the library at 301 W. Elm.
