After 2 weeks of nominations in the “Salina’s Most Eligible Bachelorette & Bachelor Contest” the list has been narrowed down to the Top 25.
Ballot boxes have been located at area businesses, allowing anyone to nominate single men and women from the Salina area. The Top 25 were decided by the most nominations recorded. Voting to decide the winners will begin on Monday here on SalinaPost.com. (VOTING BEGINS ON MONDAY) and the winners will be announced at the Event Finale on December 4th, 8pm at the Inferno.
The top 10 will offer a service that will then be auctioned off for charity. This could be grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing a car, giving a hair cut, raking leaves, running errands, etc.
The proceeds from the event/auction will go to the Robbin Ward Memorial Scholarship.
The Robbin Ward Memorial Scholarship supports art students who exhibit excellence in their discipline and positive leadership in the Art Department at Kansas Wesleyan University. Robbin Ward was a senior graphic design major at Kansas Wesleyan who lost her life in an automobile accident in the Fall of 2009. Robbin was an excellent designer, a positive force in the department, an exceptional student as well as a good wife and mother. This scholarship will be granted to students who possess the qualities that Robbin demonstrated in her life.
Host for the event finale is Ms. Kansas United States 2010 Lisa Forbes. Also in attendance are three contestants from ABC’s ‘The Bachelor’, ‘The Bachelorette’, John Nichols (this season) & Kari Fajen (last season).
Following the announcement of the winners – musical performances by Audiovox, voted Kansas City’s Best New Band & Kansas City’s Best Pop Act, along with one of Lawrence’s top DJ’s The Resistance.
